1. Data We Collect

• Account Data: Name, surname, title, email, phone (stored locally; optional persistence when enabled).
• Bookings: Details you enter for hotels, rides, flights, attractions, cars – used to process and notify providers.
• Location Data: Only when you explicitly use “Use My Location” (crime monitor, incident report); not stored server‑side.
• Incident Reports: Stored locally in your browser until approved (demo mode).
• Analytics (Minimal): Basic aggregated usage (page views & feature usage) may be collected anonymously (future enhancement).

2. How We Use Data

To deliver booking confirmations, provider notifications, safety insights, and improve platform reliability.

3. Sharing

We share booking details only with the relevant service providers (hotel, attraction, ride dispatch, etc.). We do NOT sell personal data.

4. Security

Serverless endpoints validate input; sensitive credentials kept in environment variables. OTP verification tokens are signed with HMAC SHA‑256. Do not reuse weak passwords.

5. Data Retention

Demo incident reports and user profiles are stored locally (browser storage). Persistent storage (if enabled via Supabase) retains user records until deletion request.

6. Your Rights

• Request deletion of your account data.
• Opt out of saved location notifications.
• Decline geolocation prompts.

7. Cookies & Storage

No tracking cookies. We use localStorage for session tokens, saved locations, incident reports, and preferences.

8. Provider-Specific Data

• Hotels: Check-in/out dates, guest count, room preferences shared with property directly.
• Ride Services: Pickup/destination coordinates, passenger count, payment method sent to dispatch API (Uber/Bolt or local partners).
• Attractions: Visit date, guest count, special requests shared with venue operators.
• Car Rentals: Pickup/return dates, locations, driver details shared with rental companies.
• Flights: Passenger details, route, dates shared with airlines or booking aggregators.

9. Third-Party Integrations

We integrate with: Africa's Talking (SMS), Supabase (optional user DB), crime data APIs, Nominatim geocoding, ride dispatch APIs. Review their privacy policies separately.

10. Advertising & AdSense

We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google (and its partners) may use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalized or non‑personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

• Data Used for Ads: Approximate location, device/browser info, and previous page visits (when personalization is enabled).
• Personalized vs Non‑Personalized: In regions requiring consent (e.g. EEA/UK), we will request your choice before loading personalized ads.
• Opt-Out: You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and opt‑out of many networks via AboutAds.
• Cookies: Ad cookies do not store personally identifiable information like your name or email; they store identifiers used to improve ad relevance and limit repetitive ads.
• ads.txt: We publish an ads.txt file to authorize legitimate advertising partners and reduce inventory fraud.

If you prefer that we do not load ads until consent is provided, you may use a browser extension or future in‑app setting (planned feature).

By using 2goWhere ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree, discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18+ or have guardian consent. By creating an account you confirm eligibility and accuracy of provided information.

2. Permitted Use

Use the Service for lawful personal or commercial booking purposes only. Prohibited activities include:

• Automated scraping, bot usage, or denial-of-service attacks.
• Submitting false bookings, fake reviews, or fraudulent incident reports.
• Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or circumventing security measures.
• Impersonating others or misusing authentication credentials.

3. Bookings & Payments

Bookings are requests sent to providers (hotels, ride services, attractions, etc.). Confirmation depends on provider availability. We act as intermediary; contracts are between you and the provider.

Cancellations & Refunds: Contact providers directly. We facilitate communication but do not control their policies.

Payment Processing: Online payments are processed via third-party gateways (Stripe/PayStack/PayFast). We do not store full card details.

4. Crime Monitor & Safety Data

Crime statistics are indicative only and sourced from third-party APIs or mock data. Do NOT rely solely on our data for safety decisions. Always follow local authority guidance and emergency services (dial 10111 in SA for emergencies).

User incident reports are moderated but may contain inaccuracies. We are not liable for harm arising from reliance on community-contributed content.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, design, code, and trademarks are owned by 2goWhere or licensed. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: We provide the Service "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We are NOT liable for:

• Provider failures (cancelled bookings, no-shows, poor service quality).
• Inaccurate crime data, geolocation errors, or safety incidents.
• Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages exceeding fees paid (if any).
• Force majeure events (natural disasters, government actions, network outages).

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold 2goWhere harmless from claims arising from your use, violations of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations, fraud, or security risks without prior notice.

9. Dispute Resolution

Governed by laws of South Africa. Disputes resolved via good-faith negotiation first; if unresolved, through courts in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

10. Modifications

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Check this page periodically.
